De elite heeft het zwaar. De economie is in crisis, het poldermodel is dood, het populisme is terug en het kabinet is uitgeregeerd. Tijd voor ‘een nieuw wij-gevoel’. Het poldermodel ligt na het AOW-drama in duigen, het politieke midden spreekt uit angst kiezers te verliezen met meel in de mond, het volk mort en het kabinet is uitgeregeerd. Een tijdperk is ten einde, klinkt het in de elite. Na tien jaar is ‘het concept-Balkenende’ uitgewerkt. De ‘planvolvoerende elite’ van de verzorgingsstaat, die het beste voor had met land en mensen en die in Wim Kok een van haar laatste vertegenwoordigers had, is ten ondergegaan.

Zaterdag 21 november was er weer de nationale Kenyadag 2009. Dit maal in het koning Willem I college te Den Bosch. Zoals elk jaar word dit georganiseerd door stichting Sosurwo. Dit jaar was stichting Heads Together mede organisator. Het was een dag waarin alle stichtingen die betrekking hadden op kenya bij elkaar konden komen om samen te werken in de projecten of elkaar er over te informeren. Deze dag werd geopend door de Keniaanse ambassadrice HE. Prof. R. Rono. Ook de wethouder van Den Bosch was aanwezig deze dag. Er werde leerzame workshops gegeven over o.a “Clean Water” Dhr Groeneveld en “Gender & Community” door Dhr Koffi. Ondanks wat problemen met het openbaar vervoer was het een gezellige dag waarbij iedereen zijn netwerk kon uitbreiden onder het genot van een keniaanse maaltijd.
